Hi,

Has anyone reported any problems with loading the content in external windows for IE8-IE10 users?

We have a large estate of 16k users and have been testing the app with '10 operators' before fully integrating it into our User Portal and adding in additional Teams/Departments

We have several 'buttons' on a page to launch a chat with one of several departments, launching in an external window. We've found this the preferred option given user/testing feedback.

We are now having issues with the content not loading in the external window for the user.

Noticed the problems in ver 7.0.5.3 and have just upgraded to ver 7.0.6 and the issue continues. The external window launches and I can see the visitors on the site in the operator console - visitor monitoring is on.

The app was fully functional for all users/testers with ver 6.2

Attached screenshots...
chat01 - within the server configuration, Company Logo and Background Image are both blank
chat02 - this is what appear with the following setups
- company logo set as png or jpg or gif & background image set as gif
- company logo none & background image set as gif
- company logo & background image set to the same gif

The code for the header/body
<div id="lz_chat_fs_header" style="display:none;">
	<div id="lz_chat_fs_logo_left"><img src="" border="0"></div>
	<div id="lz_chat_fs_logo_right"><img src="https://{domain}/images/carrier_header.gif" border="0"></div>
</div>
<div id="lz_chat_fs_body" style="display:none;top:100px;"></div>

Can anyone advise if version 7 is compatible with IE8-IE10 ? Or has anyone got it working in IE8-IE10 ?

Many thanks for any insight...

Hi Chris,

I did some tests and I can't reproduce the issue in 7.0.6.0.

Can you provide a real URL via PM so I can check your install?

Thanks.

Btw. did you clean the cache in your browser?

I am sure you did but just to be sure.

Hi Patrick,

Many thanks...

The site is running on our Intranet, so you'll not be able to view the install unfortunately...

If you've been unable to replicate, in older versions of IE, then it must be a config issue locally, so will continue to test different browser/config settings...

Have sort of got version 7.0.0 working in IE9, but only if the console is open.

If the console/developer tools window is closed, the external chat displays the two header images, but no content.
If the console/developer tools window is open, the external chat displays all the content and input fields...

JS code

if(!console) {console={}; console.log = function(){};}
will cause the same 'undefined' error for console calls as if console.log was left as is...

it should be
 if(!window.console) {console={}; console.log = function(){};}

Did you clean the cache in your browser?

I don't get any error in IE9,10 or Edge, it shows both images + content, tested in 7.0.6.0.

IE8 is not supported.

Cache cleared and have updated to 7.0.8.4

This is still a problem in IE9
