Hi Fabio,

Thanks for your thoughts but we are not going to change that.

You can use the Bot API to request all visitor information required before allowing to start chat with an operator.

If everything is set up correctly, your website visitors should not be able to initate a human chat unless all requirements (fill user infos) are met.

I already explained the issue we have when starting chat BOT with questions for the visitors... Another solution for us is to allow BOT to start with a multi select question.

Suggestion: when we are typing the answer in the chat and some options from the knowledge base are shown for quick reply, would be great if there are 2 options: Send the Text and Send the Link, so we can send just the link to the knowledge base already answered question, with images and videos (not only the text).

It's possible that I still don't really understand your problem.

This is how I understood your scenario:

1.) Visitor starts chats with BOT (welcome manager mode + chat API)
2.) BOT asks for name, email including confirmation
3.) BOT ask for visitor issue, searches the knowledge base
4.) BOT offers chat with operator

Anyway, I really like your idea and we will add the buttons right away. That's a huge improvement.

Hello Patrick,

I am glad that you liked my suggestion! We use Livezilla here about 50 hours/week, and this small details help us a LOT!

About the problem with chat BOT + API, I will try to explain using an example for you to understand it better. But first please confirm to me if the first question must be asked using the "Welcome Message", or can I use the API to start the "conversation"?

Another request, if possible: would you please increase the BOT Welcome Message field length a bit (50 more characters would be enough for what I need to say there, including the html tags) ?

Thanks! Best regards,

Fabio

Hi Fabio,

The bot conversation must always be initiated by the visitor.

We will increase the possible length of the bot welcome message in the next update.

Ok, thank you! Here is what we need to insert in this field:

Welcome! I am your virtual assistant and will start the chat. If you find it is necessary, you can also choose to talk to a human attendant (during business hours) or leave a message.<br><br><b>Please, what is your name?</b>

Hi Patrick,

I saw the next update will be available only in September. Please, could you tell me what database table/field and/or PHP file I must change to increase the possible length of the bot welcome message ?

Thank you! Regards,

Fabio
